It’s hard to believe that 2012 has zoomed by so quick that we are already talking about anticipated computer games for Xmas sales. Yet, most top gaming companies have already laid out their gift lists for the Xmas period and game critics have been reviewing the forthcoming titles. There is an eclectic mix of games ranging from the usual shoot-em ups, to RPGs, and of course the inevitable sequels.
Resident Evil 6
The long running Resident Evil series that began in the mid 90s has come a long way. Its story has taken us to the movies and into some of the scariest games on consoles. The demo is available so you can try before you buy in October, its official release date. (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
Borderlands 2
Most First person shooters still struggle to get better than the first outing still raved by gamers. The sequel is set to build further on the original open world with an even more expanded world to explore and shoot up bad guys. (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
Lego City: Undercover
Imagine combining the thrills of Grand Theft Auto with your loveable Lego characters. It’s absorbing just thinking about the idea. The game will allow fans of the Lego games such as Lego Star Wars to continue enjoying lego blocks scatter during car chases, and see Lego heroes and villains deal with gun fights. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
In November, look forward to the eagerly anticipated sequel to the first person shooter game of the year in 2011. Here, it’s the near future with some futuristic gadgets for the soldiers and lots more heart pounding action. Is this a game to look forward to for Xmas 2012? Absolutely. (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
Halo 4
At the moment, only Xbox gamers can buy the new Halo game out in November. As before, all the single player missions are updated and there are more. Plus, the multiplayer maps increase offering what will seem like endless hours of gaming fun for the Halo fanatics.
